The Room (Yeah that one)

I wasn't expecting to spend my Saturday morning doing much of anything, but having watched watched The Room earlier and having spent the rest of the afternoon in tears of laughter anytime a snippet re-emerges in my mind or reading the bonkers story of well everything in production. I want to rush out and buy the DVD, just so I can share the laughter with friends next time they're over.

I hate the whole genre of watching bad movies just to be in the know and hating on bad films and someone elses work, but this truly deserves to be watched by everybody, I will never forget it. Fcuking spiritual, nothing works, yet everything works, everything that is wrong with is everything that is right with it.

I thought I was going to have an aneyersum due to my spontaneous violent laughter after this scene.

It's my first 10/10 movie this year, if a rating is even possible.

A masterpiece in bad film making, words can't do it justice.

It somehow - and this is the part that confuses me the most - cost several million to produce.

The book (The Disaster Artist) on its making is an absolute must-read.

Not usually one for being interested in films beyond the picture in front of me in the cinema but I will make an exception in this case, thanks for the heads up.

Aren't they making a movie about the making of this?

The audio book is brilliant. The guy who plays Mark is the narrator and his impression of Tommy is hilarious.

I love how the guy who played Chris R (the drug dealer) gave the most committed, layered and nuanced performance out of any of them. Was funny to read about how much of a method actor he is on set, actually felt a bit bad for him with this being the role he'd be remembered for. :pac:

Wiseau has taken part in stags versions of the film. I so want to see it live!

I've seen the film is San Francisco with a local audience and it totally added to the experience!
