Hi people, just signed up and pleasantly surprised to find the accountancy forum.
Would appreciate some advice if anyone can. I'm a CA (CAI) who's been working in Australia for the past 4 years, got a decent job here with a NFP but I'm starting to get itchy feet.
my family situation dictates that I'll have to return home in the next year or 2 so what I'm wondering is what are my employment prospects should I return?
I would ideally like an industry related role but getting a job will obviously be the main priority so I probably can't afford to be fussy.
If anyone had any suggestions/ideas I would be very appreciative. I would prefer to work outside Dublin if possible. Also is the fact I was working for a NFP likely to hinder my chances?
    Thanks

I've been looking into industry roles outside Dublin and there seems to be a good few in Limerick, Cork and Shannon. You should check out some job sites to see the experience they're looking for, I'm sure you've gained experience in your current job that is transferable to other industries?

I'm also going to jump on the bandwagon here instead of starting a new thread  If anyone could fill me in on the job market for industry roles in Galway I would really appreciate it. I had a very pessmistic call with a recruiter that Big 4 experience is not considered transferable in the Galway market and it's very difficult to get jobs in industry because of that? Any insight greatly appreciated. :)
