Better off at a commercials garage?

So my little Stilo failed the NCT on the main trail-arm bushes on both sides. Apparently it's an absolute pain in the cheeks to replace them. My mechanic winced when I went to him about it and he said he's not very well equipped for that job as it's not as simple as getting the arm off the car and into the press. The bushes are oil filled and easy to damage. The FIAT forums corroborate every thing he said and people mention special tools/ adaptor discs that make the job easier. He told me he would be able to take it on if he had a quiet day because it could turn out to be a nightmare.

Would the commercials garages be better equipped for doing this kind of work in situ?

The only places that will be properly equipped is a main dealer or fiat specialist.

i am neither a main dealer or an independent fiat specialist but i do have the required equipment to do this job, so do many other garages I'm sure as its similar to set ups used on many other cars.

@porsche boy- I know there are special OEM adaptor disc type things but do you think it's possible to do my job without them?

If so, what kind of gear would a garage would a garage need in order to do the job?

I mean I know theoretically it can be done at home but it usually takes them forever and it's messy so I'm assuming a properly equipped garage will do it in much less time and therefore money right?
