    hi,

I went to the dentist today after my tooth split in two. It was all rotten under the seemingly normal looking top. Anyway to cut the story short, the dentist said the best thing I could get done is a tooth implant. She said it would be cheaper to try Enniskillen or Newry and it will cost slightly less than approx €2,000 but I didn't get anything sorted.

I had one crown already on my front tooth, it used to be a bog standard porcelain until I got a zirconium crown which looks & feels better. I don't want to get a porcelain again but maybe you won't notice it on the bottom teeth. Can you get it done in one day or do you have to come back a second time ? How much is the average price in Ireland ?

The cost will depend on a number of factors.
    1. Bone graft requirements.
    2. Who does it specialist or general dentist.
    3. Quality of laboratory work.
    4. Type of implant.
    5. Type of temporary.
    6. Type of abutment.
    7. Cost of extraction.

There are a lot of factors. Prices will range from €1900 to €3500 depending on thee variables. The sterling at the moment means that you would want to be getting it for around 1300 gbp to match a 2000 euro quote in the south. That is simply not going to happen. The saving of money going up north to have dental work was always a bit of a myth now however you are actively spending more to inconvenience yourself.

Choose a place near to where you live or work so its easy access treatment and it keeps time off to a minimum. I am shocked your dentist would reccomend you travel away from aftercare to have irreversible medical implant inserted into your skull.
