Looking to get a simple bale handler for the back of tractor. Which ones would ye recommend, paddle type or tubular bars ? Would feed about 100 bales of hay / silage each year so something simple would suit. I saw Cashel ones on DD recently, anyone any experience of these ? Thanks in advance !!!

We have the standard pipe type ones. We have a homemade one and a Fleming one. I prefer the nugent one a neighbour has though the pipes are shorter and don't seem to get stuck under the bale when tipping it up if you get me.

    +1.
    Also have Flemings double handler,
Both seem to be pretty tough!

have a cashel one here myself, the one with the ducks foot paddles. Using it at the moment while feeding bales with the paddles removed.
They are fine for lifting wrapped bales but i would say that the bales wouldn't want to be sagging as its hard to get underneath them but i think thats a problem for all bale handlers of similar type. They're pricey too at 600, thats what i payed anyway but i'd reccomend them.
Great to have two prongs for lifting instead of a single spike, no more bales dragging on the ground.
