    Interesting fact:

Bank comes from the word 'bench'. In t'olden days the money lenders in Florence, (normally Jews because money-lending with interest was considered an impure practice in Christianity) would sit out on the street behind their little tables/benches plying their trade.

Makes sense, in Dutch a couch/bench is 'De Bank' , I'd say German is similar.

Also, banks are open on Monday, why wouldn't they be?Not a bank holiday!
