Air in heating system

I had a 2 rads added onto the system late last year as part of an extension build. Soon after, air in the system started generating noise in one of the new (vertical) rads downstairs and to lesser extent, some of the other rads on the downstairs circuits.

I found that the boiler safety valve was overflowing, thinking that the valve was faulty, I replaced it to no avail. I then tested the gas boiler pressure vessel and found that it wasn't holding pressure so I replaced it (and pressurised it up to 1 bar). No issue now with spiking pressure or a leaking safety valve.

However, I still have noisy rads and have to vent the air from one radiator upstairs every few days (air doesn't collect in any of the other rads). If I didn't know any better, I'd say there was a leak in the system, however, I don't see any evidence of the same. Am I missing something?

Carrying out work on a gas boiler is both illegal and dangerous if your not Rgi.

Check the Water in the Header Tank to see if it's dropping and refilling. If it is you have a leak. It could be as simple as a loose connection not leaking but pulling in Air, especially when the Pump starts.
Air will make it's way to the high point in the system. You can also get automatic air vents for Rads on ebay.

Thanks, I'll make sure and have an RGI check over the work.

I should have mentioned but its a closed system fed by a half inch feed from the storage tank in the attic. The valve on the feed is currently open, should it be closed perhaps?

No self respecting Rgi would stand over a diyers work
