    Hi all
I am planning a drive to east russia later this year .
I am looking for a GPS with russian maps .
I am not really interested in going the smart phone route . Anybody got any experience in this ?

    Thanks in advance .

I have a TomTom rider and that covers the whole of Russia. I am guessing that most TomTom's would then cover the same area. I can confirm this in May when I head for Mongolia :)

    So do I :)

Anyway I turned my rider on and put in a route from Clifden to Vladivostok and it worked it out. It did say that there was areas of poor map info, well we all know that is the case as there are very few roads. I know Garmin maps don't cover Russia as standard which was why I ended up buying the TomTom

How about buying Russian maps on GPS manufacturer's Russian websites?!
    Here's garmin.ru maps - http://www.garmin.ru/gps-karty-dlya-avtonavigatorov-cat/
I'm sure TomTom have something similar..
