pir set up

    looking to install a pir sensor in porch for porch light but only live and neutral coming from ceiling,please help

    Connect the live and neutral to the pir and then connect your pir to the light. If you have a porch light switch just leave it switched on all the time or the pir wont work.

    3 wires in the pir,brown,blue and red,3 wires in the ceiling,1 live and then two wires joined together,brown in pir to live in ceiling and blue in pir to the two wires joined together in ceiling,what joins up with red wire in pir then please.

    You connect your red wire to your light ("live").

    So you will end up with red wire connected to your light and bring a neutral connection to your light as well (most likely the blue/twin cables that are joined is your neutral).

    If you are unsure, post a picture light/pir.

    cannot put a picture up here. 3 wires coming down thru ceiling and 2 of them joined together and other one
