Smoke coming form exhause - Under warranty

Hi. Looking for some advise, please. I bought a 2nd hand 09 mondeo from a dealer 2 months ago. It is looking like there are a few problems with it but i'm not sure if these are actual faults or not.
When starting cold there is a fair amount of smoke coming form the exhaust. Its gone in 3-4 seconds but enough that you can spot it from the rear mirror and if the window is down it smells pretty bad. Also when idling at lights and in neutral, there is a rattle under the hood. Press the clutch down and it goes. Not loud but noticeable. I never hear it when driving, just when in neutral and not all the time. About 50% of the time.

Have one month left with engine and gearbox under warranty. So, looking for some advise before I approach the dealer. Thanks.

What engine is it 1.8TDCi or 2.0TDCi? The first thing could be a few things. The second problem could be the flywheel on it's way out which unfortunately may not be covered under warranty as it's deemed a consumable. You really need the problems properly.

    Its a 1.8TDCi.

OK, so you think I should bring to mechanic and then go back to dealer with any problems that mechanic finds? Well, provided they are problems that are under warranty.

Bring it back to the dealer you bought it from and get them to diagnose the problems. They should be fixing the problems that are covered by their warranty. If one of the problems is the flywheel and they won't cover replacing that then you can shop around to price the cost of repairs.
