Which Registrar Office do I go to?

Hello all. Currently living in Canada and heading home for a church marriage later this year. We are both from Kildare but the wedding is in Bansha, Tipperary.
Do we need to register our marriage the Tipp office or could we do it in the Naas office (which would be closer to us). Will be home for a quick trip in July so was hoping to get the notification done then.

It doesn't matter you can go to any - just contact the one you want to attend as soon as you can as some can have longish waiting lists and the dates that suit you may be gone

Are you sure? I was told by several couples married in the last year that they had to register their intent to marry in the office local to the venue where they got married. By local I mean the office designated to cover a defined area which the venue would fall under.

I'm getting married in Kerry and i registered my intent in Limerick where i am from. No problems with registering in a different district.

Were they getting married with the registrar?
I think that's the case if you're having a registrar office wedding. If you're using another solemniser (priest/humanist) then it doesn't matter as far as I know.

Best to just call the registry office and ask.

Ah that might be it, they were all civil ceremonies as far as I know.
