    Hi all

I'm trying to figure it the best method to hang 4/5 floating shelves in my living room alcove.
    The wall is plaster board.

The question I have is what tower if during should I use....

    Toggle bolts
    Molly bolts
    Bolts into the studs

Best thing to do is fix 2x1 around the alcove and make the shelves so they slide over it and hide the 2x1 completely. You'll get a good fixing into existing stud work and where there is no stud you can use the fixings that knot behind the drywall.

What's the best way to find the centre of the studs to fix into?

Decide on what thickness your shelves are going to be and mark the exact location of where you want them. If you haven't got a stud detector you can drive a small nail into the location of the supporting 2x1 and see where it's solid.
