Mondeo 2.0 TDCI engine

    I'm buying a 2.0 TDCI titanium mondeo tomorrow could any one tell me if the engine in this has any major problems,it's a 2010 model

    It's a Peugeot/Citroen engine and are fairly sold but can suffer from injector problems.

    Just make sure you know the co2 figure for the car you are buying as Ford tweaked the emissions on the Mondeo sometime in 2010. Early ones cost more to tax.

    Had an 09 titanium.Engine very solid-ran like clockwork but does need the right oil-interval was 15k km but i changed filter and oil every 7500 km and think it helped.One thing to watch for is front tyre wear.Heavy car with big engine up front-titanium has the 18 in tyres and can be costly.

    Timing belt. The replacement interval is 200,000km or 10 years, whichever comes first. They cost around €300 to do the timing belt kit and water pump in an independent garage.

    Thanks George,there's 105,000 miles on this car so I must see if dealer will change this before I buy it
