How to connect an insert stove to chimney?

Can someone tell me how exactly an insert stove is connected to an existing flue?

I know that a reducer is connected to the clay pot and sealed with fire cement. Then a short length of straight 5" or 6" (depending on size of flue from stove) is connected to the reducer and fire cemented again.
A 45 degree piece is then connected but my query is in relation to the final connection into the collar on the stove. How is this final connection done and fire cemented?

While all the above maybe what is done and therefore what u know but it is not correct.
Without knowing exact type of stove and flue it is impossible to answer

Nothing done yet - just doing a bit of advance planning.

Looking at a Henly Apollo 5kw insert to be fitted into an existing open fire ope.
