Revenue VAT bill and home implications

My business partner has been separated from her husband for 20 years and he left her and her two kids (now adults)

They are still only separated and technically married even though they are in different relationships and he has another family

They both joint own the house she lives in which has a small mortgage

It seems he has run up a large vat bill, interested and penalties after working on the black market for a while. He doesnt have any other assests and he is being vague about what he owes

She is concerned that the revenue will attach a judgement to the house. if so how likely are they going to push for the house to be sold to cover his debts? One adult son still lives with her

    Any ideas/input greatly appreciated

Speak to a solicitor with taxation enforcement experience.

Sounds like Revenue have raised assessments on him for non declaration of VAT
