My galaxy s4 i9506 is stuck on a Firmware upgrade encountered an issue. I was flashing a rom onto the phone with odin and for some reason it failed and now I cant turn on phone only in download mode.

I went to sammobile and downloaded the version for Ireland but it had vodafone and I am on O2. I tried and it failed again. Not sure if the phones region is Ireland. I have tried everything and the phone turns on with the samsung logo and then nothing?? I can get it into download mode but cannot load any stock rom onto it

I am not even sure what region the phone is from anyway I can find this out?

    Can anyone help?

the 6 at the end is interesting and denotes.
    Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 Galaxy S 4 (i9506)

So you'd need a firmware for that soc.

The regular s4 should end in 5.
    Qualcomm Snapdragon 600 Galaxy S 4 (i9505)

That's most likey the firmware you're getting from sam firmware ?

Best advice I can give you is read up on xda forum

    Thanks

Phone is I9506 and I got it from someone who worked in Samsung thus the difference to the regular S4

I was checking those threads last night and downloaded the recoveries and tried to load them up with Odin and failed with Odin. Then went into Samsung Updates and downloaded the PDA for VDI (vodafone Ireland) and again got fail so was wondering if the region I used(VDI) is compatible with the phone

I used an old version of Odin to load up the pda but version 3 has not got pda could it be something to do with that causing the failure? What do you choose if loading up a tar file with Odin 3?

    Thanks

Some of the roms include the pda file, sometimes you don't need it at all. it can differ.
    You could try this.
    https://androidxda.net/install-android-5-0-1-lollipop-i9506xxudoa6-official-build-on-galaxy-s4-lte-a-gt-i9506/

Again I take no responsiblity if your phone blows up eats you etc etc,

Most of samsung phones, it doesn't really matter what region your phone will be in. Once your modem is supported which most european roms will have the same just a case of slecting your language.
I'd concetrate on gettign anything booted before worrying about what region you have.

cheers yes want to get it booted but the firmware I was downloading from Samsung Updates was always the Irish versions

The lollipop on the link is for Slovakia, Czech Republic, and Germany and it takes an eternity to download:confused:

    Probably just a slow mirror.
take the filename and google it to get other mirrors.
as always be careful what you download etc make sure it's from trusted sources etc.
