i-Parcel Delivery "Flagged for Review of Contents"

    Hello,

I ordered a new mobile phone from Amazon a few working days ago.

Its apparently "shipped" according to an "Order Shipped" email from Amazon

It shipped with a courier called i-Parcel, and the tracking status for the last 3 days has been:

"Your shipment has been flagged for review of the contents prior to export"

So I emailed i-Parcel and they say they haven't received the parcel from Amazon yet!

Does anyone have any experience with this issue when buying with Amazon/this courier?

    Thanks

As it contains batteries it will be flagged for review. Should be released after a few days so it could be progressed in a day or so. I had stuff containing batteries delivered by iParcel on time even though it was held up for review and looked like it was going nowhere.

With the limited details given by OP I would just guess it's been stopped at customs somewhere - happens I'm afraid. It will be a few more days to clear that then onto your motel.

No its coming from "Surrey, UK" so shouldn't be customs issue. I'd say it could be the fact theres a battery in, as the last fella mentioned. Fingers crossed it doesn't drag on for another 3 days! :)

My package (no batteries), got the same status for a few days, then moved along. Today it went "out for delivery" then shortly after "EXCEPTION Package missing crucial information, contact UPS iParcel at...".

My amazon postal details have never once been an issue before, first carrier to have a problem. Le sigh...

The time I got a phone from amazon I got the same status from I- Parcel, the status also never changed, a day or so later I got a message from fastway that My amazon parcel will be delivery between 10 and 11am.

I had a problem like this too. Because my house doesn't have a number on it, iParcel assumed the address was incomplete, so they never sent it out for delivery. I got in touch with Amazon Support and they sorted it out immediately. The package was sent out the next day

Sorry for dragging up an old thread but I didn't want to create a new one.

I've the same issue, been like this for 3 days.

All I've ordered are 2 books and an SD card, any ideas?

Estimated delivery was today and it now says it's in customs! It was only sent from England. Raging.

My other half ordered a book for my birthday in may, it took 16 days to come from the UK. Amazon was the only supplier with stock.
It came by an post in the end.

Amazon gave a delivery day of 5 days after the order, then kept extending it.

    Time to forget about Amazon.

    Oh you're joking right?!

I ordered 2 books and tracking currently says it's in Customs.

This is the first time Amazon have used this crowd with me, usually it's An Post.

Those status reports from i-Parcel about the goods supposedly being held by customs are a lie.

I had one of those on Friday 26.6.: "Package arrived in the destination country and is awaiting release from the Customs clearing agency"

I emailed i-Parcel about it: "Both the UK and Ireland are EU countries. There is no import duty. Why is the package held by customs?"

i-Parcel answered like a politician would (by sidestepping the question): "Thank you for contacting i-parcel, a UPS company, regarding your order. I apologize for the confusion, your parcel has arrived in IE and is in the process of being transferred to Fastway. Below is your local tracking number with Fastway that will become available within the next few business days."

On checking the Fastway tracking number (which was "available" already) it became clear that Fastway had already received the parcel the previous day (25.6.), no customs involved.

Now, don't get me started on Fastway...

I agree. Try http://www.bookdepository.com/ instead. Free delivery worldwide and fast.

I stopped buying books from Amazon a long time ago because of the Paddy tax they impose: a book that's dispatched from a warehouse in Germany gets delivered free of charge to UK customers while Irish customers have to pay for shipping.

So you've decided to forget about Amazon by using another company owned by Amazon? Ok so....

Is it hair splitting time? Fine, let me rephrase: I stopped buying books via the amazon.co.uk website to avoid their Paddy tax.

I am aware who owns bookdepository.com

Yeah, it's a machine knitting book, pretty hard to find.

    Book depository didn't have it

I presumed he bought from another seller but no, it was Amazon direct.

First experience with i-parcel... ordered a computer mouse from Amazon, it's been flagged and on hold for over 12 hours. Why do minor orders like this get flagged in the first place? I just don't understand. I've had pc components shipped in the past from all over europe and never had any flags.

It is just going through a part of the process of shipping it from Amazon's warehouse through customs clearance and to you.

I put in a large order with Amazon last week for a new computer rig. Got split into five separate deliveries (which based on their tracking seemed to be because of the different distribution centres the items were in).

Four of them went via An Post, and arrived pretty quick (or at least once they got into Ireland, that is). The fifth is via iParcel, and they have been bloody useless. This has been the tracking progress so far (factor in I ordered on the 19th):

Package details received electronically from Seller|10/22/2015 2:52:49 AM
Your shipment has been flagged for review of the contents prior to export|10/22/2015 2:52:49 AM
Your package has been taken off hold|10/22/2015 9:29:44 AM
    Received at i-Parcel|10/27/2015 2:56:38 PM
Exported i-Parcel and in transit to country of destination|10/27/2015 3:51:00 PM
Package arrived in the destination country and is awaiting release from the Customs clearing agency|10/28/2015 4:00:00 AM

Amazon's own tracking first said it arrived in Germany on the night of the 22nd, left Germany the next morning, and then was kind of in limbo until yesterday when I complained and it seems they gave iParcel a swift kick up the behind; as it then showed up as arriving and immediately leaving their centre in the UK yesterday morning.

Having seen this thread and various others about this lot both here and in the Amazon forums, I'm actually kinda worried how long I'm going to be left waiting for it; especially as it's this package I absolutely need to set up my new PC as it has the processor and memory.

EDIT: Literally two minutes ago, the local Fastway tracking code for the iParcel has actually updated
Seems my parcel is in Donabate with a local courier.

Isn't i-parcel owned by UPS now? Apparently they are UPS i-parcel now and I never thought UPS were so awful.

Yeah, nevermind. I-parcel is still ridiculous. Ordered a package that is supposed to be delivered by i-parcel express, it's been taken off hold yesterday morning after the review of contents and there hasn't been a single update now for 24 hours.
