From going on this forum if tis hotel make sure and ask how many rooms guests get, do they get a special rate, do they have a 2 night stay min or anything like that.

Bar Extension is another - are ye charged for this and what time does the bar close

Oh there are lots of small things to ask about

Costs of drink on the night. I'd found out from a forum that our venue charged 6 Euro for a pint! We were already booked, so I didn't ask. I don't know how much they charged on the day, as I don't drink pints usually and we had lots of wine on the day. However, if it was true, then unfortunately the beer drinkers would've got hit with that...

Do they charge extra for chair covers?

What room decorations are available/included in the rate? - if you're not planning on doing up the room yourself, it may be worth checking out what they have, e.g. candelabras, uplighters, hurricane lamps, fishbowls, etc... any flowers at all...

It's not exactly a question, but I think it's important.

Negotiate anything you want BEFORE you sign on the dotted line.
So if you think you might want to bring in your own wine, negotiate the corkage up front.
Discounts, fixed prices, add ons, now is the time to mention them.

Once they have your business, they're not going to negotiate with you. They have a contract.

Too many times I see people wondering how best to negotiate a discount a month or two before the wedding.
If you've already signed up to E15 corkage the hotel has no reason to cut it to E10.
