Does anyone know somewhere that would hire cheap enough?

Our hotel is charging 3euro per chair cover for the civil ceremony but maybe that is a good rate?

    Any suggestions gladly taken. :)

Believe it or not that's actually a good price, most event hire places charge a fiver a pop.

Ok great, thats good to know then. The chair covers are included for the reception alright but as we are having the ceremony at the hotel they are charging us for that.

Would it look weird say if you only had say half the chairs covered, like the ones up the front?

i wouldn't think it weird to have only certain chairs covered.
personally a chair covered/not covered wouldn't bother me. in fact some covers can be annoying as they slither around, or maybe it's just me;)

I'm no expert on weddings but I wouldn't think it weird to see only bridal and grooms parties chairs covered. If it's going to cost you €300 to cover 100 chairs I'd just leave them be, can't imagine you'll have too much trouble thinking of something a little more exciting than chair covers to spend €300 on.

having a bit debate about these too, to get or not to get. I hate that they way places charge for you to set up the room for the civil. Are you having it all in the same place, Id nearly say would you mind if we just took some of the already dressed chairs and moved them yerselfs back and fourth..

One place wanted €250 to put out chairs for an exclusively ours for the day venue. I was right so what do I get for this, just the chairs in a room that would not be used anyway and her to attend.. madness

Yeah i will defintely have a chat again to them. There will be quite a big number for the civil ceremony, 150+ so it would be a big enough job setting up the room for a civil ceremony.

I just think the covers really set it off and make the room look nice.

Wow... they're actually charging to cover the chairs? The chairs used for our civil ceremony were the same they used for the meal so they were covered anyway... they just moved them to the tables afterwards (one part of the room was blocked off).

Could you see if they'll do that?

Its a separate room so they have to set it up for the ceremony and the meal separately. But i will def plead my case and try and get the cost included.

To be honest, if you're paying a fee to hire the room for the civil ceremony, the chair covers should be included in that. 3 euro a cover is a bit much to be asking. Our venue wanted us to pay 300 euro to use a different kind of chair that would have been sitting unused anyway since we are in an exclusive venue for the day. Madness. 300 euro to move chairs from one room to another!
