Forestry Land Value in NRA CPO Scenario

    Hi Guys,

I am considering planting approx. 12Ha of GPC3 on our farm which has received technical approval. Part of the land which we intend to plant is situated on an NRA route corridor for a dual carriageway which went through the design stage process during the boom years however the project was put on hold when the downturn started and hasn't gone through either compulsory purchase order or planning process.

It is not inconceivable that the project will go ahead some time in the future. I was wondering how this forestry land would be valued say in 10 years time by the CPO process in comparison to agricultural land. Is there some sort of IFA agreement in place for this? Do they take into account future earning potential? Any advice on this matter would be appreciated.

    Cheers,
    Windyboy
