Not directly related to racing but,

Off work on Friday. Can anybody recommend a decent pub, with a decent atmosphere in Dublin City?

Stags Head on Dame Lane would be a good bet, racing will be on loud and bookies next door.
Should be a bit of atmosphere.

Does The Stag's Head even have a TV?
Racing will defo be on in The Dame Tavern next door to it anyway

Not sure if it is convenient for you but the Goat in Goatstown has a pretty serious racing fraternity and they go overboard for Cheltenham.

Cassidys on Camden street is a great pub for the weeks racing. Have been there the last two Cheltenham Friday's. Boyles next door. Lads and pp down the road if needed. I'll be there tomorrow and Friday.

The Blarney Inn on the corner of Kildare St/Nassau St is handy if you're that end of town. It's notmally quiet enough tho, outside of lunchtime. On the plus side, they serve food.

Ryans for me, basically in the middle of the bookies :D Was there on GC Day two years ago and it was busy enough, few free bets and a bit of grub put on too.

If anyones in West Dublin, the Laurels in Clondalkin has a great atmosphere on Gold Cup day. Seems like a lot of people take half-days in work and head to the pub. Big screen and a decent carvery available.
