iPhone & Passat Bluetooth - Where's the Sound?

    Hello All,

I've had a Passat for quite and while now and consoled myself with the fact I cannot hear the sound of the phone if an e-mail or text messages comes through UNLESS the radio is switched onto BT Audio meaning if I want to know an e-mail or text has come through I'd have to have this channel open and therefore be unable to hear the radio.

Same doesn't apply to other makes of phone but I've two iPhones 4S and 5S and both have the same annoyance.

If the phone rings the Bluetooth will definitely interrupt the radio and both the phone and car will make ringing sounds but not for any other notification.

I can deactivate the Bluetooth settings for Media Player(disconnect) but it reconnects automatically when the battery of the car is switched back on so don't want to be doing that every time.

Disclaimer "My car is my office, I sit for hours a day in my car(not moving) so I'm not driving before people say I shouldn't be using my phone anyway"

Is there a workaround for this?

    Thanks in advance.

If you swipe up from the bottom to open control centre, is there a "button" to the right of airdrop?

As you can see mine is connected to my headset and all sounds go through it.

Forgot to say if I select iPhone from the list, my calls still go through the headset but sounds come from the phone as well.
