Insurance won't cover you if you buy a stolen car.

The cops take car and if insurers have paid out to original owner the insurance company now owns the car.

The new buyer who is stung may be able to make an arrangement with insurance company but means forking out more hard earned cash.

    Hate thiefs and scammers.

I will find you and I will kill you....

    beaten to it.

on a serious note I cant help but notice the scummish behavior and cars stolen in or around Dublin. I think trackers would nearly be compulsory on all cars there now.

Company I drove machines for had. One wwas found to be in eastern Europe not long after it was stolen. I'd say it's on news websites if you Google it. Up until then we thought we were dealing with boys robbing diesel. Probably used the diesel to get to Europe

The advert gives the name and mobile number the seller used but the contact number at the bottom of the ad is the same number

Thats because he only wants to be contacted via donedeal messenger. He isn't giving his own phone number

This is why you always buy a car with the sellers name in the logbook.

Don't get why someone would be bothered about a ad like that.
I know not ad but I would be seriously boiling if I got stung like that and there were a few occasions where nearly did even with checks done.

    They react to reported ads

    What was in the ad?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 73,520 ✭✭✭✭colm_mcm

Basically the advertiser was sold an 08 corolla, turns out it was stolen. Basically an appeal for info and at the same time message to the seller that they will track him down (even though they have no info) and a picture of the boys in balaclavas.
