Hi. I'm interested in doing a Fas course on Medical Administration. Have been looking for months for an administration job (I have over 15 years experience) but no luck. My JSB has come to an end and I don't know if I will get JSA yet. My question is if I do a Fas course what kind of payment if any could I expect

The ETB's (formerely FAS) only pay a training allowance if you are already on a Social Welfare payment. They take over the payment for the duration of the course. If you have no Social Welfare payment then you don't get a training allowance. You will be entitled to a travel allowance if you live more than 3 miles away from the training centre. If your JSA is pending you won't receive anything until a decision is made but your training allowance will be backdated to the date your F103 is received.

Yeah that's what I thought. Informed today that I don't qualify for JSA so just have to hope a job comes soon.
