I am just wondering is it possible to notice a caving in of the face where a first molar was extracted around a year ago? If so is it reversible or can anything be done to improve it?
I would choose a root canal anytime soon over an expensive implant

Usually there is enough skin, fat, muscle and bone to hold the profile of the face in that 1st molar region. You should not notice a "caving in" of the face…

I'm confused by your post, you had the extraction a year ago but are considering a root canal of what?? The tooth is gone… Your best option at this stage is an implant.

Sorry my posts are not clear. I have another molar that will need an extraction inevitably, so I'm going to chose a root canal this time.
Maybe it's because I lost a lot of weight off my face since the extraction. I was just a bit panicked about it recently as I only Noticed. It seems to be outside where I got the tooth out that looks different; I had got it extracted in haste. Implants are expensive?
