Running in the cold/snow

Out for a run last w/e, started out sunny & half way out had driving hail and snow showers. Turned for home at that point and got back 30 minutes later, freezing and skin stinging. Showered, dressed and warmed up and thought no more about it.

Since then I have had red sore raised blotches on arms, trunk and chest. Doc said it was some form of dermatitis with low level of inflammation, and gave me a script for antibiotics and a steroid cream. Anyone had this before?!

Sounds like chafing. If not, were you wearing anything unusual? Maybe an allergy to your shirt/washing detergent? Doubt if it was the snow, unless you live in an acid rain area.

One of my arms is allergic to my watch believe it or not!

You probably have an allergy to nickel. I get the same. Even the tiny metal contacts on the back of my garmin will give me a rash/raised watery bumps if I wear it for longer than 6/7 hours.

To the OP try taking an anti-histamine. It should stop the over reaction your body is making to whatever it is allergic to. Ask your doc just in case.

That's the weird thing - the rash/bumps weren't anywhere you would expect chafing - not at a seam in my leggings or waistband for example. Not on my wrist under or near the Garmin. Just on my forearm, upper arm, chest and stomach, and its still there a week later. Bizarre! Hopefully Spring has arrived now
