It only stays on when I've the lights on. It works perfectly with the lights off. It's the light on top of the rear window. Anyone know why this is happening?

Wouldn't that mean all brake lights would be on?

Sounds more like an earthing issue at the back?

Check passengers footwell add mentioned above. Long foot passengers seem to hit it lol. Used to have a 206 and same problem.

I actually just assumed for a while that they had implemented the rear fog light in the third brake light. So many of them have the same fault.

It is a faulty relay brake switch and goes on all of them.

If only centre brake light is on means your 2 outside bulbs are blown from most likely been stuck on for a while.

You will need to replace your stop/tail lamps also as they are gone.
I really hate vehicles with none working brake lights as it is so dangerous.

When the lights are off, the brake lights work as they should. When the lights are on, the rear brake lights are on as they should only the top brake light over the rear window stays on, it should only come on when I brake. So it looks like I'm constantly breaking.
