    Hi
Im looking at buying a 2008 Honda Accord idtec, executive, it has 140,000 miles on clock, full service history, and is priced at 10,500euro.

Just wanted information on whether this price is too expensive considering the mileage?

And is the higher mileage an issue with the idtec engines?

I have an accord ivtec, petrol, never a days bother, just looking for a change.

    Any advice welcome.

    Cheers.

I think the early idtecs had issues, not sure if thats true or not. I wonder is over 10k too much to pay for a 08 with 140,000 miles?

I thought the 140 mileage would of took it under 10k. I wonder are there many of these cars on the road today with a lot higher mileage?

I thought the idtec was supposed to be good enough mpg? And tax is cheaper too.

The mileage is the part i dont like

They aren't great on diesel in my experience. Low to mid 40's.

Are there many cars with comparable size, weight and power as those accords which would have better MPG figures?

Most of the similar size cars with the VAG CR 2.0 litre TDi engines are more fuel efficent. My old Passat CC was getting around 50mpg which I assume would not be too far off the weight of the Accord.

Accord is just 60 kg heavier apparently.

43mpg is what I get out of mine OP.
