I am due to move silage bales tomorrow. There are 6 tines on the grab so there will be 6 holes in the plastic. How long will the silage keep for?

It depends how dry and how well-compacted they are. Wet and loose bales will sag more when lifted and suck in more air. You could tape up the holes on maybe 1/2 of them and use them last.
I'd say a week tops on your average bale before you'd need to use it.

I'd say a week , maybe a couple of days longer . Could you take off a few of the tines to do less damage ?
