Aus v SL on a dry pitch in Sydney ..... kinda like the ones SL love to play on

I have a feeling SL will do a number on Aus tomorrow..... If that happens we will end up having a Aus v SA quarterfinal !!

Yeah, I think this will be a really tough match for Australia as Sydney is a ground the Lanka lads will love and they know how to win in Australia.

Not saying Australia are doomed or any garbage like that if they don't win tonight, but its going to be a serious examination of their prospects.

On the other hand, hard to see NZ slipping up against Afghanistan, especially if they bowl first, it will be finish very quickly.

England got 300 handy enough against Sri Lanka, bowl like that again and it will be closer to 400 against this Australian lineup. Should be a great game, Sri Lanka have a very good record at the SCG but with the form Starc is in especially, I foresee no surprises.

6-2. Could be a quick one this

    Vettori's figures thus far
    5.0 3 5 4

that's 4 wickets in 5 overs and only 5 runs scored off him

    Afghanistan reeling at 65/6

Feel sorry for the Afghan. But NZ too good

    Australia taking control here

    158/2 in 30

350 on with Maxwell and Faulkner to come!!

SL have let Aus off the hook with their bowling changes.....

Would love to see Maxwell and AB De batting together, impossible to set proper field for them.

Mitchell Johnson is bowling left hand spin around the wicket to Sangakkara
who is possibly the best left handed batsman in the world.

That choice makes no sense to me.

Australia will lose if they keep this up.

    Sangakkara makes his century.

    Sri Lanka unleashing here

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,521 ✭✭✭Giggsy11

SL need 105 runs in last 10 overs with 6 wickets in hand.

Mathews and Chandimal are playing well, especially Chandimal.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,521 ✭✭✭Giggsy11

Such a shame that Chandimal innings ended with injury. Very good innings, might come back to bat later.

Good match... The World Cup has really come alive these last few days

The Aussies got a real scare tonite.... Chandimal going off was the turning point....

No total is safe in one day cricket anymore!!!

It is if South Africa are chasing it. :pac:

Good match that, high scoring games can be boring as so many of them, but plenty of quality on show as well.

Australia will be pleased enough, although Mitch was poor, and Finch seems to be falling out of form again, his dismissal was village.

Lanka probably won't this overall, but as an experienced side who knows how to win knock out games, they aren't the ideal moments for South Africa who them seem quite likely to meet now in the last 8.

Lots of ticks for Australia. Clarke got runs and showed why I always wanted him in the team. Faulkner failed with the bat but got wickets and changed the game. Watson might have found his new position. Johnson had one poor over but showed signs his best isn't far away. Maxwell is on another planet.

Target was always too big but they gave it a great shot.
