Employer wants me to do a course

I'm a qualified CPA with 4 years PQE and I work in industry. Basically my superior has told me to find a course to do, and the company will fund it. He mentioned tax exams, but I'm not sure I'm willing to dedicate my downtime to such tough exams! I do work long hours at times, and I am in a very busy role which touches on all aspects of accountancy work - I also have a team of 8 people reporting into me, so perhaps some sort of management course could be an option.

Has anyone got any suggestions of possible courses? I know iPass have a Vat certificate course which would be very relevant, so may start off with something like this.

If your employer would like you to do a tax qualification then have you considered a Tax course that is less arduous than the full CTA or CTC qualification.

The Institute of Tax runs the Tax Technician qualification and CAI (you don't have to be a member) run a diploma in taxation course that are less involved than the full professional tax qualifications but might still look good on your CV.
