What is usually the outcome for being overpayed?

I'm currently receiving JSA since January. A job interview I went for last month offered me and the other applicants a trial day for which we were paid for, with only one getting the job, it wasn't me that got the job, unfortunately. I informed my local office that I was being paid and the guy who dealt with me just said he will make a note of it. I wasn't stopped any money though.

Now, I've been told that I have been overpaid. The department were fine with me when I told them about informing them, and said it was noted, but also told me that as I have been overpayed I will have to pay back.

I don't mind paying back, but it won't result in any prison sentence or court case will it? Also will they take the money all at once, or will it be taken in small amounts?

Have they said you're overpaid by 1 day? Or how much?

Pay it back. Your fine. You told them. Their mistake.

You're grand. There will certainly be no court case. You'll have it paid back over a couple of weeks.

Hey guys thanks for your help , just another question about overpayments. I got a letter to state how much I earned on that day I got payed.

Then they did a gross weekly estimate, followed by deductions until they reached the means amount.

So do I pay back the entire amount? Or just the means amount. I've gotta go down and ask them but just dont want to look stupid by not understanding the form.

Example: I was payed 80 then they said they will take 60% .

The amount you were over paid by should be on the first page of the letter.

Thats the amount you have to pay back.

It should 1/5 th of your weekly JSA payment. (payment divided by 5)
