cap 1s v diploma in accountancy

Just wondering if anyone could tell me why one should do a diploma in accountancy costing around 4,500 compared to doing the cap 1 tuitions and exams costing 2,100. I am considering doing the diploma in ul and know this would give me full cap 1 exemptions. As I work full time I am wondering what would be the best option for me and what do employers see as more favourable for someone with a non accounting degree?

You work full time - will the diploma be at night or is your job shift based so you can work around it?

Cap 1s would be more difficult than any equivalent level exams at college for a couple of reasons - in college 1 subject is usually split across a few subjects and it is a higher pass rate of 50% per subject rather than the standard 40 at college. That said Cap 1s are very manageable.

If you are working a conventional 9-5 and you want to keep that whilst studying then do the Cap 1s. Slightly harder route but could suit your lifestyle more (that's just an assumption on my part). Additionally it's good preparation for the Cap 2s where you are balancing work with study. I don't think either would have much of an effect with employers, they look for people from outside standard business degrees as well and being enrolled in either ACA or a Diploma shows you are serious.
