Haggling with Hotel!

We booked our wedding, paid deposit and signed the Contract with the hotel in November 2014 for our Wedding in October 2015.
The hotel has now released a new wedding brochure for 2015 with a reduced price per person, they are including extras that they wanted to charge us for i.e. they were charging us an extra €300-00 for canapes on arrival and this is now included in the new package.

We are meeting with the wedding co-ordinator next weekend and I wonder is it worth haggling with him over this and getting one or two things included in our package? Do hotels generally budge on this?

Any feedback would be greatly appreciated!

Yes haggle for all you can! But get it in email or writing (easier as otherwise its you word against theirs and verbal is open to interpretation) and so that you can make sure they don't try and charge in Oct - just email them back with the agreed items following any meeting. The difference in PPP maybe be to do with the options available for starter main etc.

if the packages are the same bring in the brochure at the meeting and get them to agree to it, just make sure that what you have agreed already doesn't include extras for free that with the new package they now charge for - maybe they have given you chair covers for free but they charge 300 euro in the new package!

Get everything agreed and in writing (email is probably best as you can follow the trail)

no harm asking (nicely) but they have a signed contract.
