Looking to get 4 tyres 225 17 45. any recommendations for either buying and fitting (Dublin) or buying online and getting them fitted somewhere else? the uk sites used to be good but with the euro so low against sterling this isn't a great option anymore....

I got a very decent quote from Pat Clifford Tyres for a specific enough tyre. Only issue was the 2 week lead time so sourced them myself but I'll be getting him to fit them as it's a mobile tyre fitter.

How does that work, he's the gig and balancing equipment in the back of a van so just jacks your car and removes the wheels to fit the new tyres. Will he take away the old tyres as part of the call out service, how much is that service roughly? Sounds convenient so just interested to see if there's any cost saving to sourcing tyres online when you factor in delivery and fitting costs.

Will let you know how it goes when he calls around to my work in an hour. 20 euro a tyre and 20 euro callout charge.

Quoted 140 a corner for 225/40/r18 Vredestein Ultrac Sessanta but there was a 2 week lead time so sourced them myself and price ended up the same after the fitting costs.

had that tyre before. decent tyre and they also look cool of course. the only problem was the the fitters put them on incorrectly (asymmetric duh) but I noticed this luckliy. where did you get them online?

Got them on CamSkill. Tyres on now, the fella was done in about 30 minutes and only arranged it at lunch.

Pretty happy considering I didn't have to go down to local tyre fitters and hang around.

It's well worth it on my opinion as I got the tyres I wanted within 2 days delivered to the office and had them fitted while I was in work. Convenience at it's finest.

Something I was looking for but €100 could put me off this service.

    Convenience costs, though.

Equipment costs etc, and it is not like you have 14 customers a day.

    Too expensive for me, though.

€20 call out charge is reasonable but €20 a tyre to fit is a bit extreme especially when doing all 4. Would have expected a €5 discount for each subsequent tyre ie €20 for 1, €35 for two, €45 for three, €50 for four.

    Much better offering.

€70 would be acceptable for me after sourcing the tires. I do all 4 at the same time anyway.

Needless to say I know a man who has both the equipment and the place and he would do it for €50 anyway. I just need to drive up there and wait.

I can wait for 30 minutes to save €50:D

5 customers a week would do me
