Hi were currently trying to decide on our kitchen layout.
Can people give us the pros and cons of built in double oven verses conventional ovens.

Also where would we place hob/oven

The fridge is across from the range

The range is an oil fired one.

Will you cook in the range? If so, it's very out of the way.

Look at a pantry unit - we got sold on one as it's a single place for all foodstuffs.

Built in double ovens are great, much easier to access then floor standing options.

Where the range is, could you turn a line of units out off the wall to help 'close' the area/breakfast bar?

Put dishwasher close to sink and bins.

Don't put fridge beside oven or range.

Keep hob reasonably close to sink - or put a 2nd small one beside the hob.

I'd put a double oven at eye level next to the fridge and then put a hob on the worktop next to it. My parents house is like that and it works great. Could you centre up your sink on that back wall? I think it would look better that way. Maybe it's too late to move the window now.. Is it a new built? If you go to a few kitchen places they will come up with some ideas for you..

Oven at eye level next to the range would work well, 2 deep drawers under oven for storage of saucepans etc. Hob next to this. Make for a good 'work triangle' (position of cooker/sink/fridge should form a triangle for greatest efficiency, I remember learning that in school!). A friend's kitchen is laid out exactly like that and it is a great kitchen to work in.
Oven next to fridge isn't recommended.
