My dh has flights booked to uk in July and I want to go with him on same flight with our baby who is due I couple of weeks.
Want to book flights now so we are guaranteed to travel together on same flight. Can I just book my flight now and add baby after arrival or would I have to specify 1adult and 1child under 2 now? We don't have a name for baby

What I did was book the baby but with a name such as no name or TBA. Rang Aer Lingus once born and they changed it

You have to book the baby at the same time as you won't be allowed book a child separately after they're born.

Advice I got from Aer Lingus last year was to book with the name "Baby" for the new arrival and give them a shout with the name when he/she arrives.

If it's Ryanair, the same applies but they will need their own passport when travelling!

did ye have to pay the €100 fee to change the name?
also are you asked for gender when booking? Ive never booked aer lingus before

No fee. Can't remember if we selected gender or not but we weren't sure so would of picked randomly

actually found info on this on their site, mind you wasnt easy find. thanks for all your help!

Should passengers make a booking on Aer Lingus services for their unborn infant using the infant's surname and 'Baby' (to be advised) as the 'First name' there will be no charge to subsequently change the name to the correct infant's name after the birth. However, if the itinerary includes travel on one of our codeshare or interline partners we will be unable to perform a name change. Passengers may also contact us to add an infant to an existing booking which was made before the birth.
