Can't Get Eircom Broadband.

I am posting this on behalf of a relative. They live about 4 miles from town. They wanted to get Eircom broadband . They had the Eircom technician out today and he told them that although there is a phone connection in their house it is a satellite one and due to the distance from the telephone exchange and the topography of the area, they will never be able to get any type of Broadband from Eircom. They are very disappointed. All the technician could recommend to them was to stay with their 3 Dongle. As mentioned they are on 3 Irelands 60 GB plan on Billpay monthly. But with teenagers in the house they are very easily going over their monthly data allowence & their bills are expensive.

Are there any suitable alternatives to Eircom Broadband that they could try? It would have to be wireless and with an unlimited data allowence. They do not want satellite broadband.

    Any help would be appreciated.

    Thanks in advance.

    Ballycarton.

Fixed wireless is what you need. See ireland offlines map.

Won't be unlimited, but you can get larger allowances.

Have you ever cinsidered satellite broadband Ballycarton? My brother couldnot get eircom broadband. But he did go to Rocket broadband for a while, but it did not work out for him. he then decided to try satellite broadband with Blue Sky Satellite Broadband. As far as I know they are based in Wexford. My brother is very happy with it & hasn't had any problems. Their customer service is good too he tells me.

Buy a 3 phone sim top up with €20 get unlimited data put it into the modem if all other options fail . Fixed wireless would be the best option to look at first.

I would only suggest Satellite as a last ditch effort, if there is absolutely nothing else available (Wired, FWA, Mobile).
