EDIT: I see there is an 'upgrades' forum - perhaps I should have posted there. Mods feel free to move if needed. Thanks

    Hi all
my sister recently bought pajero sport which has had two extra seats added in the back. The seller provided documentation/reports to confirm that the work was done properly.
My sister has sent these on to her insurance but they say that the Road Safety Authority will need to see the a report from an official Mitsubishi Dealer.

Is this the case, does anyone know?
I found this form on the RSA site and it says nothing about official branded dealers needing to be involved.

    Thanks

I'd imagine its a revenue issue as well? Is it taxed commercial?

    Hi
I don't think so, but I will find out. It already had seats in the back originally - the two extra seats have made it a seven-seater.

That's a bizarre one, as the Pajero sport was never a 7 seater.. Usually a mod like that just requires a certified engineers report and inspection in a test centre. Insurance company might be querying it as it's not something within manufacturers specs, unlike other mods such as crew cab conversions or even winch bumpers, suspension lifts and the like..
