An opportunity came up for me to purchase a small guest house in the Bushmills / Giants Causeway area, I was strongly considering it until I read a thread on boards.ie. and spoke to some friends of mine.

I am from the South, Dublin to be more specific. I never even took that me being from the South would be a problem in this day and age, am I completely ignorant!!....

I was hoping to have a chilled life in one of the most scenic places in the world in my opinion.

Any input would be greatly appreciated as I feel that this is now a complete no-go.

Have you actually been to the area the guesthouse is in and walked around? You can get crabby neighbours wherever you go but sounding out the area itself might be a good idea. Plenty of us live in NI with 'Southern' accents with no problems at all :P

I'd hazard a guess that not so many live in Bushmills though...
