The Lap of Laois returns for its 4th edition on Sunday 22nd March. As usual we have a 60km and a 120km route. Both routes are new for this year so you will have a chance to see some parts of Laois that you may not be familiar with. The Cut still features in the 120km route, albeit in the first half this year, so don't worry- we haven't denined you that pleasure. The 120km should be a good challenge with just over 1100m of climbing.

Start/finish is at the Irish Prison Service Training Centre, Dublin Rd., Portlaoise (beside Midlands Prison). Sign on will be open from 8.00am with rollout for the 120km at 9.30am and the 60km at 9.45am. There will be a foodstop on route, mechanical support/broomwagon, showers and the now traditional chicken curry at the finish. Entry fee is €25 (one day licence available on the day for €2 for non Cycling Ireland members).

All proceeds from this year's event are going to The Cuisle Centre, Portlaoise, a charity supporting cancer patients and their families.

Links to routes can be found at facebook.com/lapoflaois as I can't do links here.

We hope to see you all in Laois for what should be a great day of cycling

Giving this a bump for Sunday. Forecast is for a dry sunny day with light winds, perfect weather for a spin.

Well done to Complex CC on a great event. A few tough little lumps along the way but thanks to a group mainly consisting of Marble City lads I made it to the end. Well marshalled/signed and good food stop,. Thanks again.

Great route, amazing weather, plenty of fuel at the food stop.
The curry as spicy as I remember from last year.
What more can you are for?

Thanks to everyone who participated in the Lap of Laois today. I hope you all enjoyed the spin, it certainly was a great day to be out on the bike. Hopefully we will see you all back again next year. Any feedback is welcome.
