I'd be shocked if local media don't cover it. If anyone comes across notice of media coverage could they post it here please.

Presumably the plane could never again take off out of there? And is now effectively trapped in that small airfield.

I'm sure it could get out, but it won't ever move from their by air.

It doesn't need to, it's going on permanent display as part of an aviation museum/ society

It's not that small, the main runway is nearly 6000 Ft, by comparison 16/34 at Dublin is 6700 Ft, on that basis, if it was light and not going too far, it would get out legally, and if the commercial operations distances were disregarded, then it would get out without any issues, a LONG time ago in another galaxy, we did some "experiments" with a 747-400 simulator, and it was feasible, (but not legal in terms of commercial operation) to get a 747-400 in and out of Chicago Meigs, which was 3900 Ft. so getting out of Wollongong is not going to be that much of an issue.

Shore, if it was easy, everybody would be doin it.😁
