Lamb with broken leg

Just had a 4 day old lamb with a broken leg. Don't know how it happened but the lowest joint on the left back leg seemed to be in bits. He was under a bush with the ewe over the other side of the field with the other lamb.

So I put a splint on him and fed him 200ml volostrom as he seemed a bit thin. Anyone know what the likely outcome is? Am I wasting my time?

Keep him in if possible and the on ewe, but should be ok as pet either. I could never get them to survive outside, would say get a plaster pack from vet and put on, very easy to do and normally successful. Just make sure take it off on time as leg can grow and cause infection.

Lambs heal well. I had to set two broken hind legs in the one lamb once and it did well.
