Videos disappeared from Ipad

I had 6 videos on my ipad and they just disappeared all of a sudden. I have tried resetting the Ipad but that didnt help and now when I try and re ad them it wont let me. I get the message on the top of itunes that the ipad is 'preparing to update' but then it just stops and nothing happens. Anyone know how to fix this…
