I was wondering is their a certain stigma attached or are certain assumptions made when a single lad decides to go to Thailand for a 2 weeks holiday alone?

You'll probably get a few jokes from your mates. They'll be mad jealous.

I told all my mates I spent six months riding ladyboys. Left them with very little material for their jokes!!

If you want to go, go!

Yes of course there are, usually but people who've never set foot in Thailand or in Asia. Should it stop you going? Absolutely not, you could play safe and just go to one of the Spanish resorts as if the carry on over there is any different to Thailand. Like the poster above says play it up and wind them up about it and don't forget to ask them constantly if they're coming back with you next year!
