Hoping to dust off my MTB and head to Ballyhoura this weekend for a day on the trails. I've been before with a group and really enjoyed it. I think we did the Brown loop with a bit of the White at the end.
I am fairly inexperienced on an MTB but found the Brown and White loops fine.
What loops are good to do this time of year? We will have 5 or 6 hours so hope to cover a good bit.
Also, i read somewhere that there is an App for Ballyhoura. Is this still available? Can't seem to find it on the Apple App Store.

Depends on your speed really, I have done the white trail a couple of times and it took about 4-5 hours. We took our time, enjoyed the views etc etc. The website suggests 1.5-3 hours for this route, but you would need to be he-man or have a motorbike or something.

Can't help with the APP, sorry.

A group of us did the white loop (about 35 km) last weekend. Took our time, and did 2 technical loops on the way. Took 4 h. Conditions were fine.

have done the 35km white loop in under 3 hours, so it's well doable.

op if you don't want to do the full white, do the brown to the first tech loop, do that, follow the trail to the second tech loop, do that, and then look for the signs for the shortcut home. can't miss it. that's probably the best of the mountain in the shortest route

I agree with the above, brown plus the techs of the white. I did the full white a couple of weeks ago and found lots of uphills on fire roads with very little downhill rewards… :). Have fun!!
Don't know about any apps, sorry

Thanks for the advice folks. I think we'll do a mixture of the brown and white loops plus the new technical trails so. Sounds like a plan.
We are both reasonably fit road cyclists so should be fine.
Is there a new version of the trail map with the new technical loops yet?

    Cheers!

just be aware, that route will take a lot less than your 5 to 6 hours, you;d probabl;y have enough time to do it twice
