You may not have heard of it before but there is a motorsport championship in Ireland open to all 3rd level institutions.

Teams from colleges all over Ireland compete in 4 rounds which count towards individual and teams championships.

Hire karts are used but racing rules apply, today is the last round of the series and teams are on their way to cork to compete on Kartworlds brand new fleet of sodi rt8s.

It's a great championship and the skill of the drivers is second to none, currently experienced karters Ross Hayes and James Newe are 1st and 3rd in the standings with 2013 MI young driver of the year Niall Murray between them in 2nd. Any driver in the top 5 could take the trophy!
