    Hi all

Looking for some help/advice on a decision I have, I've got my house to the stage where I had to make my mind up on what type of heating system to go with, which was not easy, the house is your average bungalow, 3 bed down, 2 up, 188m2, underfloor heating down, rads up, insulated as well as i can, between rafters, from wall plate to ridge board spray foamed , on top of that all ceilings up and downstairs receiving 30mm insulated plasterboard, + knee walls and between joists 150mm rockwool, exterior walls recieving 50mm insulated plasterboard, 100mm cavity pumped with resin/instabead , around windows/doors sealed with tescon tape to prevent draught, and under finish floor will be 80mm xtratherm insulation, not as much as I wanted due to my mistake!! Im hoping this is well enough insulated even in today's high standards??im going with the borehole - ground source heatpump, I've narrowed the heating system to two companies,

Company A - wants to drill one 100 metre borehole, install an 8kw waterfurnace heatpump (American)
    C o p 4.3 , with a datatherm intelligent master control,underfloor down, and mild steel rads upstairs.

Company B - wants to drill two 90 metre boreholes , install a 12kw waterkotte Eco touch heatpump,(German) c o p 5.1, with a stat downstairs and upstairs, and buffer tank, underfloor down, aluminium rads upstairs.

My main concern is the difference in size of heatpump and borehole depths needed, even allowing that every company designs its own system to suit your needs, this much of a difference is to great to ignore, to add more confusion I've spoken to people who've had both companies install systems for them and are fairly/very happy. So I'm wondering does anybody know more about this, or have either system themselves? , I'm not all that used to posting questions on here, but Id appreciate anyone who can point me in the right direction.
    Thanks.

    Hi,

Can I ask you how you find your heat pump? Are running costs high?
I am about to embark on a new build 2000sq/ft two storey. UFH downstairs and rads upstairs.

We had originally planned on a oil, back burner, solar panels and stove but we are now considering heap pump, Danfoss is the make we are currently looking at.

    Would appreciate any feedback.
