Please elaborate on how you did this

Book a Ryanair flight and book a hotel. Its usually significantly cheaper than any travel agent. A week in a 4 star can be as little as 250 euro for 2 adult and a shorty. And flights, depending on when you wanted to go start at about 40 quid each. There are usually dirt cheap deals on 2015holidays.com that fly from Dublin, which is rare as most cheap sites concentrate on the UK and London.

Head over to the Costa del Sol for a cheap sun holiday. Good things for kids to do too. Theme parks very nice beaches and boobies oh wait no sorry that will keep daddies entertained not the little one. If you want to go in the summer holidays Spain jacks up its prices and a Greek island can be cheaper, even though its much further away... Thank the IMF for breaking their olives. Ibiza in spring can be cheap before the party season kicks off, you can get very cheap flights and nice hotels for nothing as there are not enough people on the island to fill all the rooms until June swings around. And its a beautiful place without a load of drunk teenagers wafting around.

What do you consider a medium budget?

I've used lowcostholidays.ie too, never a problem. Some really very good prices if you can go outside high season.

The trick is never to travel in July or August or at school mid term or end of term breaks.
Flight and hotel prices triple at those times.
