kitchen worktops and glass splashbacks

Want to revamp my kitchen. The cupboards are solid oak and in good condition so want to revamp kitchen by replacing the worktop. I have seen one called Maia- cappacino in colour which is a composite shiny surface. I just wondered if this glossy surface would look out of place with the oak kitchen. It is normally advertised…

It is normally advertised along with the new glossy kitchens. Also would like a glass splashback instead of tiles. Again would this look out of place with the oak kitchen. Any advice much appreciated.
